This project transformed the lone bench at the MTS/UCSD shuttle bus stop at Gilman Drive and Myers Drive into an outdoor living room set up. On one fine day in May, the Gilman/Myers bus stop was changed into the Gilman/Myers Gazebo complete with comfy furniture and living room games. The new and improved bus stop was an attempt to promote more social interactions in a not so social environment. It was a test to see if the aesthetics and furnishings of a location can determine how people interact with one another. After 12+ hours of watching, listening, and examining, we discovered that UCSD students aren't as antisocial as one might think.
