I found the course topic interesting as it combines both a social change

and interactions between peoples and physical buildings and structures.

The continuity between physical objects and their impact on peoples'

conscience is an interesting topic and I needed to know more about it.

Studying a business oriented major I often can lose sight of the social

aspects of decisions that are made day to day, so I believe taking a

socially conscience practicum course and project would be the most

beneficial.

About myself:

I am a 22 year old Senior at UCSD studying Managerial Science.

Although I plan on graduating in December with this degree I

definitely did not start with it in mind. I came into the school as

a Computer Engineering major but quickly found over matched by the

required 20-30 hours of programming a week for a single class. I

switched to Electrical Engineering my sophomore year and found it

interesting, but not quite my cup of tea. Half way through my

junior year I picked to move to the Economics department. I have

found that my engineering calculus classes have come in handy in

economics and have made my last 2 years of upper-division economics

classes enjoyable and rewarding.

Along with my computing and math skills I also consider myself a

great problem solver and leader. I have worked the same part-time

job since high school and in doing so have acquired good people

skills through the retail world. I have taken drafting classes in

the past which might also be useful in a project for the class. I am

originally from the San Francisco Bay Area and have traveled to

Europe a couple times over the past 10 years or so. I plan on

getting a job with my degree after college at a financial institution

or company as an analyst of some sort.
