I am a native of San Diego. I attend UCSD as an Alumni Merit Scholar, studying Media with Computing Emphasis and philosophy. 

As a child, I was fascinated with the interplay between fire and light.  The son of a fireworks storeowner, I experimented with various homemade concoctions of explosives, mixing and testing new compounds in abandoned fields.  One day, these experiments went amiss as a self-designed, Roman candle exploded onto me and the fallow ground, quickly igniting the entire field .  Since then, and perhaps out of remorse, my "art" experiments have taken a decidedly more subtle tone...sometimes.

Today, my art practice veers across mediums to include video documentary, installation art and cultural propaganda practices.  So, this class seems an obvious fit.  I am very excited to learn and collaborate with others, especially those outside of my discipline.

In the spirit of efficiency, I offer the following handy list of preemptive answers to questions people might have about my work or myself:

•    Tonal Drone Forrest – multiple speaker, surround sound, motion sensor triggered.*

•    Eucalyptus Grove Maze

•    Blue tooth dj set – users upload mp3 requests using their blue-tooth enabled fones or ipods. 

•    Plastic wrap hammocks suspended from trees

•    (SMS) Guerrilla  projections on buildings

•    Peep Show Cinema

*Tonal Drone Forrest - I want to do an audio/video sculputure in a forrest that utilizes MAX/MSP.  Specifically, construct a mulit-speaker, micro tonal, motion sensor activated array of speakers attached to trees the ucsd forest.  depending on what particular vector a person approaches the cluster of trees, he/she activates a different and unique set of speakers and hence micro tones.  So, each different path a person walks through the sculpture creates a specific and unique micro-tonal song.
