Large Quilt Seating- Placing a large quilt that covers the majority of a lawn area will encourage sitting on the grass because the wetness of the grass is no longer a problem.  Interesting images on the quilt can be conversation starters for strangers to interact with each other.  This highly portable and affordable seating can be set up everywhere on campus.The quilt can be held down by stakes into the grass or interesting heavy objects that can also serve as seating and a common conversation piece.
