At 7:00 pm on Thursday June 7th, 2007, a candlelight vigil and art installation memorializes George Winne Jr., a victim of self-immolation in 1970 on UCSD's Revelle Plaza.  The intent of the ceremony is to call awareness to Winne's actions, which nears its 40th anniversary, and its subsequent impact on UCSD (in particular the architectural planning of public space on campus).  Hence, the goal of the project is to garner awareness for who George Winne Jr. is, the curious disparity of his memorial and the actual location of his actions, and perhaps re-invite a mass mobilization in the one area of UCSD best suited for it.
