Hello!
My name is Christine and I am a third year Sixth College student. I am currently majoring in economics with a planned minor in Urban Studies and Planning. My intended minors have changed many times since freshman year (from Music --> Chinese Studies --> Photography) so we'll see if I stick with USP.
I wish I could say that I love my major and solving utility maximization problems with a budget constraint brings great joy in my daily life, but sadly such is far from true. Therefore I try to balance out the dullness by learning about non-economical aspects of a society. I believe that human interactions are an important part of being who we are.
In this UCSD world of study-loving students, I feel that basic communication between people is lost. There have been one too many awkward situations where students stammer when attempting to answer a simple question such as "Hi, how are you?" I hope that through this class, I can attempt to create some sort of "social architecture" which can bring people closer together even if it's just for a few minutes. Is there hope for the social awkward?
