Swings serve a practical purpose of allowing students and visitors of the campus alike to enjoy the UCSD campus from a completely different point of view.  They activate stationary and overlooked areas of the landscape transforming underused spaces into sites for socializing, fun and relaxation.  The simple function and construction of the swing coupled with its temporary installation suggests the potentiality of such spaces previously taken for granted showing how small student actions can incite unique and interesting changes within the UCSD campus enviornment.
